This has got to be the most mind-blowing gadget I have seen in recent years. It may not be rocket science but I am totally blown away. I could already see how futuristic it would make my room- if only I could put on my hands on it. Sadly, it is not even for sale.
Let me introduce to you the Void LD Player...This little thing is currently the world's smallest LP player that has a built-in motor, amplifier and speaker.
If grandma sees it, she would definitely think she has lived a ripe old age to witness a spaceship. This innovation is so electronically-forward that my CD player looks almost like a gramophone now.
((Haha, I seem to have a thing for items that suspend in air (recall my previous entry was about suspended bodies)).
The LP is carried into thin air, as it plays music, by a magnetic and auto-calibrating control system. The record player is no other than the small red sphere! It is a self-running player which contains a needle, speaker and an amplifier. How cool is that?! If only everything could be as compact and self-sustaining.
I can roughly understand the magnetic field theory behind the floating disc, but I still cannot decipher how the little red dot manages to 'run' along the LP's circumference.
Another amazing thing is that you can actually determine the levitation. Just a 'push' of a transparent button, you can control the elevation level! It's almost freaky.
